Privacy Policy
The Guelph Hood Cleaning Privacy Policy is the plain-language account of what this website collects, where that information goes, how long it is kept, and how you see, correct or delete it. It follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal law that covers a Canadian business collecting personal information in the course of commercial activity. Personal information is collected in one place on this site: the quote form. Page measurement runs through Google Analytics, and an optional chat widget loads only after you interact with a page. Last updated: September 2026.
What the quote form collects
The five fields you fill in. Your name, a phone number, an email address, the name of the business or kitchen, and a message describing what you need. Each is required so the reply has a kitchen to attach to and a number to call. The form appears on the homepage and on the contact page.
Three things the page adds on its own. The address and title of the page the form was sent from, a label naming which of the two forms was used, and a timing value recording when the page loaded. The timing value lets the receiving function reject a submission sent faster than a person could read the form. None of the three identifies you.
One hidden field. The form carries a field that people never see. Automated scripts fill it in, and any submission with that field filled is thrown away.
Never requested. Payment card numbers, banking details, government identification and health information have no place on this form and are not asked for by phone either.
Where a submission goes
Step one: a Netlify serverless function. The form posts to a small program that runs on Netlify under this domain. It checks the hidden field and the timing value, refuses posts that come from another website, and forwards a clean submission onward. It keeps no database and stores nothing of its own.
Step two: the GoHighLevel CRM. A clean submission becomes a contact record in the GoHighLevel customer relationship management system used by Guelph Hood Cleaning and its operating crew. A notification goes to the person who writes quotes and books visits.
Why the record exists. So that a written quote can come back within 24 hours and a visit can be scheduled. A crew member may phone, text or email you for those two purposes and no others.
No sale of data. Contact records are not sold, rented, traded, added to a third-party marketing list or handed to an advertising network.
Servers outside Canada. Netlify, GoHighLevel and Google may store data on servers outside Canada. PIPEDA permits this where the information is protected by contract with the provider, and each of these providers works under such terms.
Retention, access, correction and deletion
How long a record stays. An enquiry that never turns into a job is kept only as long as it takes to answer it and to recognise the same kitchen if it calls again. The signed certificate and photographs from a completed visit are safety records that a kitchen may need later for the Guelph Fire Department, Centre Wellington Fire Rescue, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health or an insurer, so they are kept, along with the contact details needed to reissue them.
Seeing what is held. PIPEDA gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you. Call 226-641-5901 or send a note through the contact page, and a copy is supplied within the time PIPEDA allows.
Correcting it. A wrong phone number, an old email address or a misspelled kitchen name is fixed on request.
Deleting it. Contact details are removed on request by phone or through the form. The certificate and photographs for completed work are safety records and stay on file, and that exception is explained when you ask.
If a concern is not settled. Raise it by phone first. Anyone in Canada may also take a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies, Google Analytics, the chat widget and the rest
Cookies set by this site. The pages themselves set no cookies. The two services below may set their own.
Google Analytics. Every page loads the Google tag with the identifier GT-WKPDM5G. It performs standard pageview measurement: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, what device and browser they use, and how long they stay. Google sets cookies to tell one visit from the next. The reports show totals, not names, and no data from the quote form is sent to Google. Blocking the tag with a browser setting or extension does not affect the form or the phone.
The chat widget. A chat widget provided by GoHighLevel is available on this site. It is optional and loads only after you interact with a page, so a visitor who reads and leaves never downloads it. Once open, it may set cookies or local storage to keep one conversation together as you move between pages, and anything typed into it lands in the same CRM as the form.
Server logs. The hosting provider and the content delivery network that serve this site keep ordinary server logs: IP address, browser, page requested and time. They exist for security and reliability and are not used to build a profile of you.
Under 18. This site is written for people who run commercial kitchens and is not directed at minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent the form can call and have the record removed.
Links off this domain. After you follow a link to another website, that site's own privacy practices apply.
Governing law. This policy is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario, including PIPEDA.
Changes. When information handling changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves. The terms of service cover the conditions a visit runs under, and the about page describes the operating crew.
Reaching the business. Privacy questions go to 226-641-5901 or through the contact page.
Privacy: frequently asked questions
Why does the form record the page it was sent from?
The page address tells Guelph Hood Cleaning which page produced the enquiry. The homepage and the contact page carry the same form, and that label is the only page-level attribution the site keeps. It says nothing about who you are.
Who sees the details typed into the quote form?
The crew that writes the quote and books the visit. Netlify runs the forwarding function and GoHighLevel hosts the CRM, both as service providers under contract. No other company receives the record.
What does Google Analytics learn about a visitor?
Google Analytics, through the tag GT-WKPDM5G, records that a page was viewed, the device and browser used, the general region and the pages that followed. It does not receive the name, phone, email or message from the quote form.
Does the chat widget load without being asked?
No. The GoHighLevel chat widget waits for an interaction with the page before it loads, and it can be ignored entirely. The phone and the form cover everything it does.
How is a deletion request made?
A call to 226-641-5901 or a note through the contact page is enough. Contact details are removed. The certificate and photographs for a completed visit stay on file as safety records.
